Summit EAP: Taking Care of Local Businesses
Did you know that Memorial Hospital associates have a mental health benefit that is free of charge? Summit Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is Memorial Hospital’s mental health counseling service, which benefits Memorial associates, but is also utilized by many other businesses in the area.
Summit EAP started out in the late 1990s as an internal EAP for Memorial Hospital employees and their families. With the success of this internal program, Memorial EAP, as it was known then, started to market to Fremont area businesses. By 2003 we had about 1,200 covered employees and their families. Approximately two years later, we trademarked and launched the service as Summit EAP.
I have been with Summit for 8.5 years. Since I started here, Summit has grown from an internal service that benefited hospital employees and their families, to a regional product with offices in Fremont and Findlay. We now have over fifty contracted companies with over 8,000 covered lives in four states.
Summit EAP is made up of nine Master’s prepared counselors with more than 130 years of combined experience. These counselors are highly dedicated to helping others work thru their problems. Summit EAP provides short-term counseling for depression, anxiety, anger management, chemical dependency, abuse, marital/couples counseling, and smoking cessation - just to name a few.
EAP is here for any employee who wants to talk about things he/she is struggling with. EAP records are kept separate from medical records; the sessions are truly confidential. Summit EAP has a proven track record with many repeat clients over the years. “We pride ourselves on providing discrete and high-quality services,” added Tally.
On average, the counselors at Summit EAP see 170 clients per month in the Fremont office and 55 in the Findlay office.
Check out these stats about our service:
